I have therefore written to the SAT Board Chairperson, Ms Makhosazana Khanyile and Deputy Chairperson, Adv. Lizelle Dominique Jordaan on 9 September 2024 to inform them of their removal from these positions, effective immediately. They will retain their positions as ordinary board members.
The Department of Tourism invites eligible tourism enterprises to apply for support under the Green Tourism Incentive Programme’s (GTIP) 10th application window that opened on 2 September 2024 and will remain open until 28 February 2025.
The Working for Tourism sub-programme incorporates the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) from which the skills projects are funded. Youth training is integral to drive growth and recovery of the tourism sector, we need to boost the talent pool.

Tourism Month
The 2024 Tourism Month programme, which will run from 1 to 30 September 2024, was launched in the Northern Cape in recognition of the need to spread the value of tourism around the country.
As the country invites domestic and international visitors to explore South Africa’s majestic tourism destinations, vibrant living cultures and traditions, the government is hard at work to further expand the sector by unlocking the untapped tourism potential in our townships, villages and small towns. By doing this we will further grow and diversify the tourism offering in South Africa.
