This important global meeting of senior tourism and high-level representatives of the private sector, taking place from 9 to 13 September, brings together delegations from more than 150 countries. Also in attendance are representatives from over 500 UNWTO affiliate members in the public and private sectors, NGOs and academia.
We are confident that the Thabo Mbeki Presidential Library, which will host the rich legacy of Former President Thabo Mbeki and other African leaders, will become an important cultural monument that will not only serve to bring tourists to our shores but will also serve as a reminder of who we are as Africans, where we come from, what we have achieved and our obligations, as a young generation, towards creating a united and prosperous Africa which is at peace with itself.
This is part of a ministerial engagement with local and international influencers and the Thabo Mbeki Foundation on the country’s brand in the continent and abroad.
