Tourism Month 2017

Tourism Month is celebrated annually in September with the aim of encouraging South Africans to explore their own country. It also provides the tourism industry with an opportunity for a sustained, heightened month-long focus on the importance of domestic tourism to the economy.

The Department of Tourism leads the celebrations with a number of events.

South African Tourism, in partnership with the National Department of Tourism, Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency commits itself to promoting Sustainable Tourism for Development through the #We do tourism Sustainably Campaign.
