Urban-economic development economists was appointed by the Department of Tourism to conduct surveys for the proposed development of a new local rail tourism model as an important initiative to enhance South Africa’s competitiveness and destination offerings. This proposed new rail tourism concept will be tested with the market for viability with various stakeholder groups.
