The 2025 Best Practice Workshop will be held from 12 until 14 March 2025 in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape under the theme: “Sustainable Tourism Development.”
The Tourism Best Practice Workshops are held annually as a mechanism to implement existing bilateral agreements between the Department and its African counterparts including those in Europe, Asia and Americas. The workshops facilitate for information sharing on matters related to the sustainable development and growth of tourism.
These interactive workshops focus on sharing best practices in tourism operations and provide a platform for industry professionals to collaborate, learn, and innovate, driving sustainable growth in the tourism sector.
The 2024 workshop session will probe into the following focal areas:
- Marketing local products and services;
- The role of the private sector’s contribution for sustainable tourism;
- The impact of climate change in the tourism sector, strategies, and plans in addressing such challenges;
- Social sustainability;
- Addressing the challenges for sustainable tourism growth in townships and villages.
