The Director General of the Department of Tourism – Ambassador Kingsley Makhubela – would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and welcome the new Minister, Mr Derek Hanekom, to the department. “We believe that Minister Derek Hanekom will continue with the good work the department has done, and that through his leadership, the department will certainly achieve its goals and objectives, we look forward to taking tourism to new levels under Minister Hanekom’s guidance”.

The Director General also congratulates Deputy Minister Tokozile Xasa on her re-appointment to continue as Deputy Minister of Tourism. Ambassador Makhubela thanked former Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk for his leadership and contribution in the growth of the tourism industry. The Department of Tourism welcomes Minister Hanekom and wishes him well in his office.
