The Department of Tourism, through its Social Responsibility Implementation (SRI) Programme, will host a graduation ceremony to honour Kwa-Zulu Natal (KZN) students who participated in the Tourism Buddies progammme in the 2014/15 financial year.

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ms Tokozile Xasa, will officiate over the ceremony where more than a hundred and fifty (150) students will receive their CATHSSETA accredited National Certificate in Accommodation Services NQF Level 2, and National Certificate in Food and Beverages NQF level 4.

In the 2014/2015 financial year, the Department of Tourism approved the training of 900 learners in Kwa-Zulu Natal (KZN). The learners enrolled on a 12-month learnership programme composed of 30% theory and 70% practical training, during which they were placed at various hospitality establishments within the province for workplace training.
