​Members of the media are welcome to join Minister Derek Hanekom on the 27 For Freedom walk at the Drakenstein Correctional Facility this Saturday, 13 February 2016.
 
The annual event commemorates the release of Nelson Mandela from the then Victor Verster Prison, and takes the route of his historic walk to freedom after 27 years in prison.

Members of the media are welcome to join Minister Hanekom at the start of the 10 km walk and engage with him along the way.

The Drakenstein Correctional Facility is approximately 15km outside Paarl on the R301. Further details about the walk, run and concert being held on the day can be found on www.27forfreedom.co.za
