The Department of Tourism will host graduation ceremonies to honour learners from the Limpopo and North West Province who participated in the Hospitality Youth Training Programme.
Deputy Minister Elizabeth Thabethe will attend graduation ceremonies in Polokwane – Limpopo Province, and in Potchefstroom – North West Province where close to 500 learners will receive CATHSSETA accredited National Certificates in Food and Beverages Services (NQF level 4) and National Certificates in Accommodation Services (NQF Level 2).
The learners enrolled in a 12-month learnership programme that comprised of 30% theory, and 70% practical training at various hospitality establishments within the Limpopo and North West Province. The Hospitality Youth Training Programme is part of a greater objective of the National Tourism Sector Strategy (NTSS) to ensure an adequately skilled and professional tourism workforce that can deliver an excellent visitor experience.
