Tourism Enterprise Development – Minister Hanekom to launch Tourism Incubator (North West Province)
On 28 October, Minister Hanekom will launch the Tourism Enterprise Development Business Incubator at the Mphebatho Cultural Museum – North West Province.
 
The Tourism Enterprise Development Business Incubator is a virtual platform that will facilitate the provision of remote business support interventions to SMME’s in the Industry.
 
The incubator will assist SMME’s with the following services: 
  • Business development needs assessment and a growth plan for each enterprise 
  • Business management advise, mentorship and coaching 
  • Business management training and development 
  • Facilitate tourism workshops that will empower hub operators 
  • Subsidised access to business equipment – strictly operational equipment
  • Subsidy towards association membership for three years 
  • Subsidised business compliance instruments such as grading and health certification
  • Market access assistance and training  
  • A project office with access to online equipment  
  • Through partnership with the IDC and other partners, facilitate access to finance
​The initiative is a pilot project set to promote economic inclusion and viable tourism businesses that will create sustainable jobs, and contribute to the economic development of local communities.   

The Tourism Enterprise Development Business Incubator initiative is a partnership between the Department of Tourism, North West Department of Tourism, Bojanala Platinum District Municipality, and the Moses Kotane Local Municipality.
