Minister of Tourism, Derek Hanekom and several emerging South African tourism enterprises are attending the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
The Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo is Zimbabwe’s premier tourism showcase that brings together travel and tourism providers from across Africa. Minister Hanekom leads the South African delegation, which includes South African Tourism executives and 14 small tourism enterprises that received support through the Market Access Programme of the Department of Tourism.
Minister Hanekom will attend a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality of Zimbabwe, Priscah Mupfumira, on 8 September and participate in the African Tourism Ministers Roundtable to strengthen regional multilateral cooperation on tourism development.
South Africa and Zimbabwe enjoy cordial cooperation on tourism and economic development.
In celebration of Tourism Month, Minister Hanekom will promote South Africa as a destination of choice for international tourists, and reaffirm South Africa’s commitment to bilateral cooperation with our neighbouring country and strategic partner.
