A Mandela in every generation
In celebration of former President Nelson Mandela’s Centenary, the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (the Fund) in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, the City of Ekurhuleni, the Human Rights Commission, Parliament and the Market photo workshop will host the 2018 Youth Summit in Cape Town – Western Cape.
Themed - A Mandela in Every Generation, the Summit will afford youth from across the country a platform to deliberate with business, political and community leaders on the socio-economic issues affecting their generation, and their contribution in building better communities.
Founded on the ideals of former President Nelson Mandela of social justice, freedom of expression and economic empowerment – the annual Youth Summit ensures that the views and aspirations of young people, aged between 12 and 25, are heard and considered by the structures that formulate our country’s policies.
The Youth Summit will culminate with a tourism day - where the youth will visit iconic tourism sites in the Western Cape and retrace Nelson Mandela’s footprints in his quest for democracy.
