Growing regional tourism to South Africa

The South African Department of Tourism in collaboration with the South African High Commission in Nairobi will host an engagement session with various members of the diplomatic community on advancing tourism in the region.

Led by the South African Deputy Minister of Tourism Mr Fish Mahlalela, the engagement will focus on tourism recovery, and facilitate discourse on the strategies to rebuild market share, streamline visa facilitation and air connectivity.

South Africa’s tourism delegation will highlight the strides gained in reviving tourism post the Covid 19 pandemic, and its strategies to promote increased travel and tourism investment amongst its regional counterparts.

The diplomatic engagement is a mechanism that facilitates the enhancement of existing bi-lateral agreements between South Africa and its regional counterparts through information sharing on matters related to sustainable tourism growth and development.
