Tourism Deputy Minister Mr. Fish Mahlalela, along with the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Ms. Boitumelo Elizabeth Moloi will engage the community in Ginsberg – Qonce on the skills development programmes and entrepreneurial opportunities offered by tourism and government geared at empowering women and youth.
Themed ‘Promoting sustainable livelihoods and resilience of young people for a better tomorrow,’ the Youth Month tourism Imbizo will commemorate inspire and uplift young people to pursue sustainable livelihoods through business ideas, innovation and government led programmes that unlock opportunities and enable them to contribute meaningfully to their communities, and the overall economy.
During the month of June, South Africa commemorates National Youth Day on the 16th of June reflecting on the loss of young lives during the Soweto Uprising of 1976. This year marks 46 years since the 1976 Student uprising, and the country celebrates the impact brought about by the youths’ actions in the liberation of our country.
