Minister of Tourism, Ms. Tokozile Xasa, will host an Imbizo at the Zwelihle Primary School in Overstrand on 23 June 2017.
Themed ‘Youth in Tourism’, the Imbizo will provide a platform for the Minister, and the executives from the Western Cape province, to engage with the community on the initiatives and opportunities that exist in the Tourism sector for the youth, women and SMMEs.
The Imbizo will be preceded by a site visit to the Stoney Point Eco – Centre. The Centre is a community initiative funded by the Department of Tourism as part of its Social Responsibility Implementation programme, in collaboration with the Overstrand Local Municipality. The department funded the development of a themed Visitor Information Centre, a tearoom and a Heritage Site of Whaling History.
