Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane reignites tourism in the Northern Cape

​Tourism Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane invites members of the media on a two-day Domestic Travel Activation Campaign in the Northern Cape Province from 06 to 07 March 2021.

The visit follows the announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa to move the country to adjusted alert level 1.

The Minister will engage with stakeholders to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on tourism businesses in the area. She will also visit various tourist attractions to encourage the sector to comply with regulations as we set the country on a recovery trajectory as the preferred destination of choice.

The activation will offer media an opportunity to experience and gain insight about the Northern Cape’s Tourism offerings, and facilitate informed reporting on the Impact of COVID 19 and the recovery interventions to reignite tourism in the area.

Members of the media are invited to join the Minister as she visits various sites within the Z.F Mgcawu District Municipality that include, amongst other, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, the !Xaus Community Lodge and Dark Sky Sanctuary, the Molopo (Kuruman) River and the little town of Kakamas near the Augrabies National Park is the Riemvasmaak Community Conservancy.
