QEBERHA – The Department of Tourism, in collaboration
with the Eastern Cape Department of Economic
Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism
(DEDEAT), the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMB),
and the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency (ECPTA)
will host the Tourism Best Practice Workshop to facilitate
engagement and information sharing on matters pertaining to tourism growth and
development.
The Tourism Best Practice Workshop is an initiative by South Africa to facilitate the implementation of existing bilateral agreements between the Department of Tourism and its counterparts from Africa, Asia, Americas and Europe. The three-day workshop brings together policy influencers and implementers from the four continents to engage on the advancement of tourism globally.
The 2025 Tourism Best practice workshop takes place as South Africa presides over the G20 presidency under the theme Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability. This year’s Tourism Best Practice Workshop takes inspiration from the G20 theme to explore ways to mitigate the socio-economic challenges that impede the Sustainable Tourism Development in the region.
