Nompumelelo Mqwebu
Nompumelelo Mqwebu is a locally and internationally acclaimed chef who advocates for the elevation of authentic African Cuisine. Her cookbook, “Through the Eyes of an African Chef” which contains recipes that reflect her love for tasty African food. 

Nompumelelo has participated at various gourmet and business events locally and internationally and was also a judge in selecting “The World’s best 50 Restaurants” between 2013 and 2014. She is the winner of the 2018 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards: Best in The World Self Published (Global) and Best in The world - First Book - (Regional). Gourmet awards are the major food culture event in the world. 

She has trained and mentored junior chefs, trained small producers and farmers and catered and coordinated food events through her business Africa Meets Europe Cuisine. All her produce is sourced from local farmers and menus are seasonal depending on availability of products.
