KWAZULU-NATAL (KZN) - Deputy Minister of Tourism Ms. Elizabeth Thabethe will visit the Highgate Wine Estate in Lions River to oversee the practical training of the wine stewards who are participating in Department’s Wine Service Youth Training Programme.
In 2017, the Department of Tourism approved a budget of sixty million rand to train 300 unemployed youth from Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape Province as sommeliers. The three-year learnership, which comprises of 30% theory and 70% practical training, equips learners with wine, drinks and customer service skills that will enable them to work anywhere in the world.
Members of the media are invited to attend a showcase of the Wine Service Youth Training Programme at the Highgate Wine Estate in Lions River, KwaZulu-Natal.
