7th Annual Tourism Research Seminar

Tourism Research Seminar is an annual event, an interactive platform for the universities to share the research findings and obtain constructive feedback from a wide range of stakeholders, thereby ensuring that the research findings are useful to addressing the needs of stakeholders in the sector.

Previous Seminars succeeded in bringing together researchers, industry practitioners, academics and other relevant government departments, to collaborate on tourism research and enhance research capacity within the tourism sector.

Background

Department of Tourism will this year hold the Seminar under the theme: “Advancing Tourism Growth and Development through Research”. This theme is the standing theme embraces all the research studies that will be presented at the Seminar and it is also in line with the revised National Tourism Sector Strategy (NTSS) 2020 which is the importance and need for research in order to advance tourism growth and development.

In addition, a research poster exhibition will be held at the Seminar for postgraduate students receiving financial support from the Department under the MoUs to showcase their research work and obtain valuable feedback from sector practitioners and stakeholders. Delegates are therefore encouraged to engage with the students during the exhibitions.
