Minister Tokozile Xasa will host a consultation session with industry leaders on the draft 2017 National Tourism Sector Strategy (NTSS).
The Minister’s consultation session will provide an opportunity for the Department to solicit further inputs from stakeholders, and align the strategy to the needs of the sector.
Developed in 2011, the NTSS is South Africa’s tourism development framework, and remains the sector’s guiding document for economic growth and job creation.
The NTSS was reviewed in 2015, and aligned to the National Development Plan goals to drive transformation that will result in an inclusive and sustainable tourism economy. The draft NTSS was published for public comments in May of 2017.
