“Africa’s Travel Indaba’s ongoing mission and commitment to driving the continent’s economic development and fostering collaboration and growth is clear. I am particularly pleased to welcome the new countries that are joining us exhibiting at the trade show for the first time. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership,” says South Africa’s Minister of Tourism, Patricia de Lille.
In the interest of transparency, I wish to update the public on a matter where I had recently been made aware of a number of irregular payments which were made through South African Tourism’s United States of America and South Africa offices for services not rendered.
“We are pleased with the widespread interest in the TEF and the amount of applications. The applications received so far represent a diverse nature of projects. While all due processes have to be followed in screening and approving applications, I am monitoring the process closely and will be meeting with Sefa to impress upon them the need to finalise the applications urgently,” Minister de Lille said.
