Deputy Minister of Tourism Fish Mahlalela will visit the Garden Route and Klein Karoo areas of the Western Cape Province from 14 to 15 May 2021.
The visit takes place as the Department prepares for its Budget Vote presentation in Parliament on 18 May 2021 to outline its strategic endeavors for revitalising the sector during the 2021/22 financial year.
In an effort to stimulate discourse on tourism, the Deputy Minister Mahlalela will meet with industry stakeholders and trade to highlight the importance of Public-Private partnerships in the implementation of departmental initiatives to revive the sector - that will be announced during the Tourism Budget Vote.
Members of the media are invited to join the Deputy Minister as he engages with stakeholders, and visits tourism businesses and attractions in the George and Oudtshoorn area, whilst also assessing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the value chain.
