Mpumalanga youth get a skills boost through tourism’s Food and Beverage Skills Programme

The Department will host a graduation ceremony for youth from the Mpumalanga Province who successfully completed the Department’s Food and Beverage skills programme. 

 

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Fish Mahlalela, will officiate the ceremony where eighty-one (81) youth will receive CATHSSETA accredited (NQF level 4) National Certificates in Food and Beverage skills programme. This is part of a number of capacity initiatives that offer 30% theory and 70% practical skill to prepare the youth for the tourism workforce.

 

The Food and Beverage Skills Development Programme is an integral part of the National Tourism Sector Strategy (NTSS) and the Tourism Sector Recovery Plan (TSRP) that seeks to empower the youth, and create employment opportunities in the sector.
