The Department of Tourism in partnership with Joe Gqabi District Municipality will be hosting tourism information sharing session on 02 March 2022 at Senqu and 03 March 2022 at Walter Sisulu Local Municipality respectively.
In consideration of the fact that, the sector was hardest hit by Covid-19 pandemic, it is seen fitting to implement an initiative of this nature. This initiative is in line with the broader objectives of Tourism Sector Recovery Plan which advocates for protection and rejuvenation of tourism supply. One of the ways to achieve these is through provision of information on various (financial and non-financial, skill development etc.) support opportunities that exists within both public and private entities.
One the highlights of these information sharing sessions are presentations by Department of Tourism's currently opened Tourism Transformation and Green Incentive Funds windows. In addition, the Development Funding Institutions like IDC, NEF, SEFA, SEDA etc will present their various Recovery Incentive Schemes and other forms of funding they provide to assist Tourism Enterprises. The participants will be taken through application processes and requirements.
The session will be held as follows:
Date: Wednesday, 02 March 2022
Thursday, 03 March 2022
Time: 09:00 – 16:00
Place: Exact venues in Sterkspruit and Maletwsai/Aliwal North to be confirmed later.
