WESTERN CAPE - Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom will launch an iconic monument of the Map of Africa that is poised to attract more tourists to the southern tip of the continent at the Agulhas National Park.

The Iconic Map of Africa Monument at the Southernmost Tip of Africa is one of the infrastructure features commissioned and developed at the Agulhas National Park by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with South African National Parks (SANParks), to enhance visitor experience and boost the local tourism economy.

The Department has been at the forefront of the commissioning and construction of destination enhancement tourism facilities through its Working for Tourism, funded by the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) to promote economic empowerment, employment opportunities and the transfer of skills to members of the community.

Please keep in mind the following:

Clothing: Keep it simple! Flat, closed shoes and casual clothing. Please pack light comfortable clothes for the activities as well as a raincoat in case the weather changes. Remember to pack warm clothes for the evening as it can get chilly.

Luggage: One piece of luggage. This excludes photographic equipment.
Meals: Meals will be provided according to the program.
