Deputy Minister Xasa to visit Bulungula Community Project
Deputy Minister Tokozile Xasa

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ms Tokozile Xasa, will tomorrow visit Bulungula Lodge, a community run project at Nqileni Village in the Eastern Cape.

Certified by Fair Trade Tourism (FTT), Bulungula Lodge is a prime example of an eco- friendly, 100 % community owned tourism initiative in action.

Initiated in 2004 by Dave Martins, the lodge has assisted the surrounding community to start a number of run businesses which include horse-riding, canoeing, fishing, guiding, baking, sewing, cooking, woodcarving and environmental protection projects. The Lodge has also helped some of the women in the village start legendary iLanga Fire Restaurant that has the best sweet and savoury pancakes in Africa.
