Deputy Minister of Tourism Tokozile Xasa will be launching the Bonkolo Dam family recreation centre in Queenstown, on 07 June 2016. This initiative is a partnership between the Department of Tourism and Lukhanji Local Municipality. Bonkolo dam is a public entity that belongs to Lukhanji Local Municipality and provides water resources for the rest of Lukhanji Municipal area.

The centre aims to provide entertainment to the local community, boost the economy of the local municipality, promote Lukhanji Municipality as a Tourist destination, and create job opportunities.

The theme of the launch is “realising the dream of Lukhanji Municipality as an Economic Hub and a Tourist destination choice”
