Women in Tourism Networking Breakfast
Women in Tourism Networking Breakfast
The Department of Tourism in partnership with Travel Massive will host a ‘Women in Tourism’ Networking Breakfast in celebration of Women’s Month.

As the country gathers to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the 1956 Women’s March, Women in Tourism will be adding their voices in calling for a non-sexist and equitable industry.

According the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s (UNWTO) 2010 ‘Global report on Women in Tourism,’ women make up a large proportion of the formal tourism workforce, and are well represented in service and clerical level – but still earn 10% to 15% less than their male counterparts.

The Women in Tourism (WiT) conference and networking sessions are Department of Tourism initiatives that bring women together to find solutions to the economic challenges that hinder their entrepreneurial progress in the sector.  Its agenda centers on Commanding Respect, ascertaining Recognition of women contribution in the sector, encourage Representation in economic activities and leadership, and producing results that will enhance the supply and demand for domestic tourism.
