Deputy Minister Xasa to launch Tourist Information Centre in Middleburg and engage with the local community

D​eputy Minister of Tourism, Ms Tokozile Xasa, will officially launch and handover the Tourist Information Centre built by the Department to the Tshwete Local Municipality in Middleburg. The Deputy Minister will also engage with the community on issues pertaining to tourism development, and progress with regards to the National Development Plan (NDP). 

The Department promotes the growth of tourism products through infrastructure developments under its Social Responsibility Implementation (SRI) projects that are funded under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).

The Visitor Information Centre (VIC) was constructed with the view of driving tourists to the area. It is envisaged that the facility will create employment opportunities, develop a vibrant, equitable and sustainable local economy that will assist the local community to share in the benefits of tourism.
