J2SE heroes
J2SE heroes
As part of the Journey to Service Excellence (J2SE) public awareness campaign, the Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Northern Cape provincial partners will be running a radio campaign on Radio Riverside 98.2 FM to find and acknowledge Upington’s Service Excellence Heroes.

The Service Excellence Hero of the week radio campaign is the final stage of a three phase pilot programme that began in November 2013, with an objective to cultivate a culture of Service Excellence in Upington. The tourism value chain in Upington embraced the J2SE programme and attended the Service Excellence Skills workshops, Leadership Workshops and Round-table Discussions facilitated by the Department of Tourism, which resulted in the formation of the town’s very own J2SE Implementation Forum.

To build on the success of the J2SE programme, the Department and its Northern Cape provincial partners are taking the Journey to Service Excellence to the community, by inviting them to take part in recognising the importance of service excellence to the sustainability of tourism in Upington.

HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS:

The Service Excellence Hero of the week campaign will be conducted on Radio Riverside’s Big Breakfast Show over a six week period commencing on 14 July 2014 to the 26 August 2014.

Members of the Upington community are urged to call Radio Riverside during the Big Breakfast Show on Fridays [Time: 08h15] to nominate their Service Excellence Hero of the Week. Callers must relate their memorable experience and motivate why their candidate deserves to be Upington’s Service Excellence Hero of the week.

A winner will be selected every second week by Upington’s J2SE Implementation Forum. DJ Jay will call and surprise the winner on Tuesday morning during the Big Breakfast [Time: 06h00 – 09h00].

All six Service Excellence Heroes will be entered into a final draw, where the final screening of the candidates for Upington’s Service Excellence Hero will be chosen.
